Environmental Policy

We at PSI Seating Ltd understand that in pursuing our business activities and objectives, we have a responsibility to protect and nurture the environment. By exercising proper control over our activities we have successfully reduced waste and landfill streams by 85% over the past 3 years.

We have achieved this through the following initiatives:

1. Investment in a wood burning furnace, we are able to re-use wood waste for the purpose of heating our entire facility. Therefore reducing the use of fossil fuels as well as reducing our carbon footprint.
2. Partnering with a local firm who collect and recycle cardboard packaging and other similar materials.
3. Fabric pieces leftover from the manufacture of each chair is sent back to the manufacturer in order to be recycled.
4. Foam is sent back to a specialist foam recycler to manufacture reconstituted foam.
5. Metal waste is recycled and provides a revenue stream for the company.

Despite recent successes we endeavour to further improve our operational performance and we are implementing further initiatives such as working with our supply chain to further reduce pollution, waste and the use of non-renewable resources in the whole life production of our products. An eco driven culture throughout the organisation means we are able to help save the environment and generate revenue streams from our waste.
